After years spent in the heart of menswear and luxury, at Dolce & Gabbana, Kenzo Homme, Loro Piana, and Slowear Venezia, Marc Franck Garcia founded ERVERTE Paris, a "Made in France" menswear brand. 100% French manufacturing, exclusively natural fibers, timeless pieces designed to last: with ERVERTE, he champions sustainable, understated menswear that is deeply committed to the product.

What is your background?

My background was built over many years in the world of menswear and luxury, working alongside fashion houses that each shaped my understanding of clothing.

In particular, I worked for Dolce & Gabbana, whose very strong identity made me aware of the power of a brand universe; Kenzo Homme, with its creativity and unique vision of the male wardrobe; then Loro Piana, a house that embodies an exceptional culture of material, quality, and discreet luxury, immediately perceptible in the product.

My experience at Slowear Venezia was also decisive. I notably participated in the development of the wholesale market in France, with great autonomy and in contact with experienced professionals in the luxury industry, some of whom had also evolved within the Zegna house.

These experiences taught me that a beautiful garment never relies on a single element. It is the balance between material, cut, construction, comfort, durability, and identity that gives it its true value.

It is this culture of the product and high-end menswear that I wanted to reinterpret through ERVERTE Paris, with my own vision.

What led you to fashion, and more specifically to menswear, at the beginning of your career?

I have always been attracted to masculine elegance and particularly its ability to express a lot with, ultimately, quite little.

In the male wardrobe, a piece can seem extremely simple: a beautiful T-shirt, a polo, a sweatshirt, or a perfectly cut shirt. Yet, when you really take an interest in the product, this simplicity requires enormous precision. The difference lies in a proportion, a drape, the weight of a material, the construction of a collar, a seam, or even the way the garment evolves over time.

It is this search for simplicity and accuracy that has interested me since the beginning of my career and has become one of the signatures of ERVERTE Paris.

What triggered the desire to launch your own brand?

After several years in the fashion and luxury industry, I felt the need to build a project totally aligned with my own vision of clothing.

Fashion has gradually engaged in a permanent race for novelty: more collections, ever-shorter cycles, globalized production, and a massive use of synthetic fibers. I wanted to take the opposite path: create less, but create better.

Return to natural fibers. Produce in France. Work with workshops that possess true know-how. Imagine timeless menswear, designed to be worn for a long time rather than replaced according to trends.

It is from this reflection that ERVERTE Paris was born, with the conviction that a contemporary brand can offer another vision of menswear, in which elegance, quality, and responsibility do not oppose each other, but reinforce each other.

Where does the name ERVERTE come from?

The name ERVERTE sums up our project in itself. It was born from the meeting of the words "ère" (era) and "verte" (green): the idea of a new era for fashion, more respectful of the environment, resources, and the people who make our clothes.

This is also the origin of our tagline: "Welcome to the green era."

We didn't just want to create one more clothing brand. We wanted to champion a vision: that of a fashion that finds its way back to long-term cycles, quality, traceability, and respect for the product.

Why the choice of 100% French manufacturing and exclusively natural fibers? What does this change in practice in your day-to-day work?

"Made in France" and natural fibers are the foundations of ERVERTE Paris. These are not elements that we added later to follow a trend. We made a particularly demanding choice from the start: to manufacture our clothes in France and develop our collections exclusively from natural fibers, without synthetic fibers. We work mainly with cotton and organic cotton, but also materials like linen and silk.

This choice changes many things in how we work. Producing in France entails higher manufacturing costs and requires searching for workshops capable of meeting our requirements. Working only with natural fibers also reduces the number of technical solutions available and sometimes forces us to completely rethink the design of a product.

But these constraints are precisely what give the project meaning. Being close to our partners allows us to better understand the manufacturing of our clothes, to build lasting relationships with the workshops, and to contribute, at our level, to the preservation of French textile know-how.

For me, true luxury also starts here: knowing the origin of a product, understanding how it was made, and being able to be proud of the people who crafted it.

Who are your production partners?

We have chosen to work with several specialized French workshops, selected based on their expertise and the nature of the pieces we develop.

Among them, we notably work with ITHAC, a French partner that holds a special place in our approach. ITHAC combines textile expertise with social commitment, particularly by promoting employment and professional inclusion for people with disabilities. Some of our organic cotton sweatshirts are thus made in France by ITHAC.

This collaboration perfectly illustrates our vision of "Made in France": producing locally does not just consist of reducing distances or putting an origin on a label. It is also about supporting know-how, jobs, and a more human production model.

For ERVERTE Paris, the quality of a garment is inseparable from the conditions in which it is made. We want to know who makes our pieces, value the work of our partners, and build lasting relationships with them.

Tell me about the development of a piece, from the first sketch to the finished garment. Where does the rigor lie for you?

Everything starts with a very simple question: does this piece really deserve to exist? We are not looking to artificially fill collections or multiply novelties to follow an imposed calendar.

When a piece enters the ERVERTE wardrobe, we first think about its use, its silhouette, and its ability to remain relevant over time. Then comes essential work on the material. We search for a natural fiber capable of providing the touch, comfort, drape, and durability we desire. Then come the design, patterning, prototyping, and fittings. The proportions are adjusted until the right balance is found before moving to production in our partner workshops in France.

Rigor often lies in what you don't notice immediately: a few millimeters on a length, the hold of a collar, the weight of a cotton, the density of a knit, the quality of a seam, or simply the way the garment falls on the body can completely transform a piece.

Our philosophy is ultimately quite close to a form of minimalism: remove what is superfluous to keep only the essential, but do that essential extremely well.

What drives you the most today in this business?

The freedom to build a brand according to my own convictions.

We operate in an industry where brands are often asked to produce more and faster. At ERVERTE, on the contrary, we want to preserve the time necessary to do things well. What drives me today is to gradually build a true French menswear wardrobe, discover new natural materials, encounter expertise, work with our workshops, and imagine pieces that can still be worn and appreciated in several years.

There is also a human dimension and a sense of transmission that is particularly close to my heart. When we have a garment made in France, we are not just making a product. On our scale, we also contribute to maintaining jobs, skills, and a French textile ecosystem.

ERVERTE aims to expand into the European market. What does that represent for you?

It is a natural step in the brand's development.

ERVERTE is deeply French: in its identity, in its approach to elegance, and especially in its manufacturing. But the values we defend go far beyond French borders. Everywhere in Europe, customers are looking for more transparency, quality, beautiful materials, and garments that can last.

Our ambition is therefore to help people discover a certain vision of "Made in France" and French menswear beyond our borders and to contribute, at our level, to the influence of French expertise.

But we want to do it without distorting ERVERTE. Our goal is not to produce more simply because we have access to new markets. European development must remain compatible with our level of requirement, our French manufacturing, and our desire to maintain controlled growth. Europe should allow ERVERTE to shine, not to renounce what makes its identity.

Where do you see the brand in the coming years?

I see ERVERTE continuing to gradually build its own language and becoming a reference for the "Made in France" male wardrobe.

Our ambition is to enrich the brand's wardrobe with essential and timeless pieces, always made in France and designed exclusively from beautiful natural fibers. I also wish to gradually strengthen our presence in Europe and further introduce French textile expertise to an international clientele.

But my vision of success is not necessarily that of a brand that becomes gigantic. I prefer that ERVERTE grows in a coherent way, maintains its independence, and remains extremely demanding regarding its products.

The great houses that marked my career taught me that true luxury is not measured by the number of collections one launches or the visibility of a logo. It is found in a material you want to touch, in a cut you continue to love after several years, in expertise that is preserved, and in the trust built with customers.

It is this idea of luxury that I wish to defend with ERVERTE Paris: a contemporary, discreet, sustainable, human French luxury that is deeply attached to the product.
