This Sunday evening, in Montpellier, ZEvent lowered its red—or rather, green—curtain for the very last time. Ten years of the same collective energy over three days, glowing screens, wild challenges, and millions of euros piling up came to an end tonight with the closing of this tenth and final edition.
It all began with a simple idea, championed by streamer Adrien Nougaret, better known as ZeratoR, alongside Alexandre Dachary. The goal was to bring together an already immense community—the gaming and streaming world—and have them play collectively for a cause that goes beyond the screen. From a handful of streamers in 2016, the event now gathers over three hundred, with a good number connected remotely and the others gathered physically in Montpellier.
Each streamer sets their own donation goals, often with humor, sometimes with genuine personal risk, a challenge to overcome, a concert to give, or an entire night spent in the dark. As the pot grows, the bets get tougher. Over nine editions, this mechanism has raised more than 58 million euros, donated to around twenty different charities depending on the year.
Last year, the record stood at over 16.6 million euros raised in a single weekend, the highest amount ever reached. For this tenth and final edition, ZEvent did not want to leave on a quiet note. By the end of this weekend, €32,891,874 had been raised—a final record to cap off ten years of history.
What is striking about this story is the proof that a community born around gaming and entertainment can, collectively, move mountains. No speeches, no single grand cause to defend—just people gathered around a screen, choosing to turn their shared passion into concrete momentum. After ten years, ZEvent closes this chapter on what will remain its greatest record.

Z/Place, a collaborative pixel canvas inspired by Reddit's famous r/place, launched by ZEvent in 2024. Each euro donated provides 10 pixels to place on the shared canvas, with a unique "pixel upgrade" system that allows users to protect a creation by making it more expensive to cover up. This year again, the canvas is active, with over a million pixels already placed according to their own recent posts.
